What is the best material to use when making a primary mirror for a newtonian reflector telescope.? - what is the best material for a mirror

I'm considering the possibility of a mirror telescope newtoian in the range of eight to twelve inches. I have not been able to find a vision of the Internet in the answer to the question on the issue and also as the primary mirror permanently

I did. (12.5 ") loops can be a mirror of that size very demanding. I bought my Meade mirror. This is probably not worth it.

But if you insist, you can buy online Virgo mirrors.

The best mirror is Zerodur, but is very expensive and difficult to work, even though most fans are Pyrex glass mirrors, but it is hard to find.

Fifty years ago it was quite common that people make their own telescopes. Today it has become very rare for commercial telescopes become relatively cheaper. One consequence is that it is difficult parts to find to build its own domain. Unless you are dealing with a strong motivation for learning, and follow the necessary parts, I would not recommend building your own region. As the parts are hard to find, are very expensive, and homemade telescope is much more than a telescope in the civilian cost. The work is very much cheaper in China, where nearly all telescopes made today.

Glass.

Why would you do? You are not going to save money. If you ask questions such as, most likely to rethink their plans anyway. build their own was the only way to get a decent telescope. Not anymore.

Richard Berry telescope_ _build alone is one of the standard references.

"What kind of glass, Alex?

Well ... What glass window? Quality is not expensive, but a lot of fat.

I have a lot of telescopes, but the only thing I do is grind their teeth when I read a response from Brant's better than me.
